PingYu Home of Hope has hosted four summer camps for the orphans in China. Cost covers food, renting bus transportation, camp shirts, toys, and craft-making materials. The camp is usually four days long. Each day the children start off with memorizing a Scripture, then the rest of day they do team exercises that represent that Scripture. For example, one year the children memorized "Love your neighbor as yourself." That day they ran a three-leg race, they did a free fall where they trusted their friends to catch them, and had a peanut butter and jelly eating contest where one friend had to stand behind their friend and feed them their sandwich without getting it all over their face. The camp teaches the children that they are not alone, that there are many other orphans with the same situations they face. It teaches them team building and how to work as a family, it teaches the children about our Father's Word and how to effectively use His Word in everyday life.
