Highlights from Mexico City

Posted on: Feb 13, 2012

Recently I was invited to be one of the speakers at the Second Apostolic Summit in Mexico City and to address this group of Mexican leaders on how WME works and how to help them form a national network of ministers and missionaries in order to reap a greater harvest. As my wife said to me some time back, “We are all stronger when we are connected!”

This was an exciting time. Once again, I was so blessed by the tremendous influence and leadership of one of our Executive Board members, Dr. Dale Yerton. He has given the last 40 years to Mexico and the fruit of his labor is abundantly evident.

One of the highlights of my trip was the opportunity to experience the dynamic ministry of another of our WME members, Dr. Charles Green. Wow! He is 86 years old and is just as sharp today as he has ever been. The anointing upon this outstanding leader is still fresh and powerful. His communication skills, sense of humor, and contagious laugh, are just as great as ever. Although he is facing a hip replacement in a few days, his spirit, mind, and heart is just as passionate as ever. He has been my friend, mentor, and encourager all of my life. He and Barbara, his lovely wife, were in my parents home when I was only four years old!  Thank God for the great patriarchs who have walked in integrity and provided all of us with challenge, inspiration, and example!  May I have at least a portion of what he has when I am 86!  It is so inspiring.

About Our Chairman

Kemp Holden and his wife Carol were married in 1964 and formed a powerful ministry team preaching the gospel not only in the United States but soon their passion for missions would take them to the island of Jamaica where they founded and built a church and a school on the north coast. Soon after returning to the U.S., they felt God calling them to Fort Smith, Arkansas where they built Harvest Time Tabernacle. They watched those small beginnings grow to one of the largest churches in the region with not only a local focus but a global impact. After 38 years as senior pastor, having mentored his successor, Pastor Marty Sloan, he led the transition and passed the baton to the new senior pastor. Pastor Holden now serves as Pastor Emeritus of Harvest Time where he and his family attend.
