Wow! So much happening with WME

Posted on: Feb 7, 2012

Wow!  There is so much happening with WME it is difficult to know where to start!  So many great things to share.

GIANT STEP IN GLOBAL NETWORKING!

Technology is simply amazing!  Please go to the new WME website (wmeinc.org), look in upper left hand  corner, click on “Languages”, select language of your choice and “presto”, the entire website is instantly converted to that language!  Imagine what this means in connecting with ministers, missionaries, and pastors all over the world!

INCREDIBLE LEADERSHIP SUMMIT IN DALLAS!

The annual Leadership Summit of WME comprised of our Executive Board and Board of Presbyters was one of the greatest I have ever attended in my 40 years with WME.  The excitement, energy, and passion in the room was so awesome!  Space will not permit me to give you all that happened but here are a few of the bullet points:

  • WME had an 18% increase in missions giving over last year!  In today’s economy this is worth celebrating!
  • We are continuing to fund the projects requested in 2011!
  • Through the hard work of a newly formed committee, Dehner Maurer, Marty Sloan, Hal Santos and David Pepper,  WME is going to make “Church Planting” in America a part of our missions portfolio.
  • Our Executive Board embraced the idea of “Shadowing”, a concept of bringing young leaders alongside existing leadership for mentoring the “next generation” of leaders in WME.
  • Our “Crisis Response” in Joplin gained national recognition and Ron Harris was named Global  Response Director.  This guy got it done in Joplin in a powerful way!
  • We are exploring the possibility of creating a new division of WME for “Kingdom Minded” businessmen and businesswomen who want to connect their business to the Great Commission!  Wow!

I could go on and on but Julie tells me this is a blog not an encyclopedia!  Ha!  By the way, REGISTER FOR THE CONFERENCE!!

About Our Chairman

Kemp Holden and his wife Carol were married in 1964 and formed a powerful ministry team preaching the gospel not only in the United States but soon their passion for missions would take them to the island of Jamaica where they founded and built a church and a school on the north coast. Soon after returning to the U.S., they felt God calling them to Fort Smith, Arkansas where they built Harvest Time Tabernacle. They watched those small beginnings grow to one of the largest churches in the region with not only a local focus but a global impact. After 38 years as senior pastor, having mentored his successor, Pastor Marty Sloan, he led the transition and passed the baton to the new senior pastor. Pastor Holden now serves as Pastor Emeritus of Harvest Time where he and his family attend.
